Dinosaur Winter Games

Description

A sort of sequel to my Dinosaur Games drawing ([link]), this is the Dinosaur Winter Games.

The five circles again symbolize the five dinosaur "nations" (clockwise from top): Theropods (represented by Cryolophosaurus ellioti), Ornithopods (represented by Leaellynasaura amicagraphica), Marginocephalians (represented by Pachyrhinosaurus canadensis), Thyreophorans (represented by Minmi paravertebra), and Sauropodomorphs (represented by Glacialisaurus hammeri). This time, all the representatives come from places that were cold even during the Mesozoic (such as the Late Cretaceous of northern Canada and Australia) or places commonly associated with cold temperatures, even if they weren't necessarily cold back then (such as Antarctica). The bringer of the Olympic flame is Canadaga arctica and the commentator is Corvus corax. In the background, an Albertosaurus sarcophagus (of the Theropods) leaves Muttaburrasaurus langdoni (of the Ornithopods) behind in cross country, and a Troodon formosus (of the Theropods) sleds down the top of a snowy hill.

For another combination of dinosaurs and Winter Olympics, see Traumador the Tyrannosaur's blog: [link]
