Thornton Burgess Characters Phylogeny

As a kid I thought Thornton Burgess's books were essentially the best things ever. Burgess was a conservationist and author who wrote countless nature stories from 1912 to 1960 for a newspaper column. Many of these have been collected into book form (usually under the title of "The Adventures of [character name]"), which are being gradually reprinted by Dover Publications. While the stories frequently incorporated human morals into them and the characters (mostly non-human animals) could talk to one another, the characteristics and behaviors of the animals were often stunningly accurate, especially in Burgess's later works.

As a sort of tribute, I've arranged all of the named characters in Burgess's stories into a phylogeny. For simplicity I've only included those who have showed up in person (so to speak) in the main setting of the stories (as opposed to only being mentioned or appear in stories taking place elsewhere). I've also only chosen just one representative character for each species, even though in some cases more have appeared in the stories. Also, as I haven't read all of Burgess's stories (especially those that haven't been collected in book form) I may have missed some obscure characters. (A rare few, such as Quacker the Wild Duck, I didn't include at all because so far as I've read their descriptions aren't specific enough to pinpoint them on the tree.)
