Semi-aquatic mammal relative from the Daohugou Beds, which date to the Late Jurassic. Not much to see here.

Thanks for drawing this awesome animal. There is never too much therapsid art. It looks quite funny in your image.

No problem. Despite being a dinosaur person, I find that the diversity of Mesozoic mammaliaforms is often underappreciated.

You are right about their popularity.

Therapsids have become one of my favourite animal groups recently as I learned more about their history, I have always liked mammals, particularly cetaceans, but I am more interested in therapsids (and other synapsids) as whole group today as I was before. I also like arthropods. Maniraptoran dinosaurs are also among my favourites.

I remember in high school, being assigned to draw and describe a hypothetical aquatic rodent that descended from rat shipwreck survivors. Two years later, they found this critter XD

Ha! XD Not that actual rodents that are semi-aquatic aren't fairly numerous. ;)

Guess what? Showed it to "Phineas" and he was like, "Oh, that's nice. Anyone seen Perry?"

Did they have four toes (because I expected them to have five)?
Reply
:iconalbertonykus:
It should be five toes; they're just not all visible in my drawing.
